The project
Engineering autonomous inspection.
ANYmal X was developed to perform these inspections autonomously, reducing human exposure while collecting reliable operational data. I contributed to the mechanical development, systems engineering and certification of the platform from early product development through industrialization.
As the project evolved, so did my role. What began with mechanical engineering gradually expanded into systems engineering, spanning mechanical integration, verification, requirements engineering and certification.

What I took from the experience.
Building ANYmal X taught me that successful robotics is rarely about a single component. It emerges from the careful integration of mechanics, electronics, software and certification into one coherent system. Working across these disciplines fundamentally shaped how I approach engineering today.
It also reinforced the value of iteration: understanding a problem, testing an idea and improving it through observation.
